Bevananda’s participation in ISSEI 2025 aligned closely with the main theme of the conference, organized by IISIA in collaboration with the South East Asia Iron and Steel Institute (SEAISI). The conference adopted the theme “Together with the National Steel Industry, Building the Foundation for a Golden Indonesia” on a national scale, and “Unlocking Key Strategies for the ASEAN Steel Industries” for the ASEAN regional scope. Officially opened on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, the conference runs through Friday, May 23, 2025.The opening ceremony was attended by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Airlangga Hartarto, who emphasized the critical role of the steel industry in the national economy and the government's ongoing attention to it. He highlighted global challenges such as trade wars, declining investments, protectionist policies, and decarbonization efforts currently facing the steel industry. At the same time, Indonesia is preparing to transition into a developed nation in the coming years. In this context, IISIA is urging its members to maximize production utilization, increase Domestic Component Levels (TKDN), implement net-zero emission programs for environmental sustainability, and prioritize sustainable business practices.
A Regional Collaboration Milestone
ISSEI 2025 also brought together representatives from other ASEAN countries, including Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. A key moment was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) among these nations. The agreement promotes collaboration in research and innovation—particularly in eco-friendly industries—development of efficient logistics infrastructure, strengthening of regional supply chains, implementation of competency-enhancing training programs, and a shared commitment to sustainable and environmentally conscious business practices.By participating in ISSEI 2025, Bevananda reaffirmed its dedication to building a resilient, adaptive, and environmentally conscious steel industry. This commitment is in line with the national vision of Indonesia Emas 2045—an inclusive, highly competitive, and sustainable future.
