Project BEVA Gabion Trans-Sumatra Toll Road Lampung

BEVA GABION
According to Wikipedia, the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road is a 2,818 km-long toll road network in Indonesia that is planned to connect cities on the island of Sumatra, from Lampung Province to Aceh. This toll road is the main land transportation route between Java and Sumatra and is a continuation of the Jakarta-Merak Toll Road.

On February 20, 2012, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Dahlan Iskan held a meeting with governors throughout Sumatra at Griya Agung, Palembang, South Sumatra. This meeting discussed the acceleration of toll road construction in Sumatra. At the meeting, several representatives of deputies from related state-owned enterprises (BUMN) were also present.

Because economically, the construction of toll roads in Sumatra is still too difficult and less attractive to investors, it was initially agreed to build a joint venture between BUMN and each regional government in Sumatra, where the regional government would acquire land and reserve a number of areas along the toll road for a business project in the future that would be managed together.

As time went by, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono finally issued Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 100/2014 concerning "Acceleration of Toll Road Development in Sumatra" dated September 17, 2014. In this Presidential Decree, the government assigned PT Hutama Karya (Persero) to carry out funding, technical planning, construction implementation, operation, and maintenance of four toll road sections, including the Medan-Binjai Toll Road section, the Palembang-Simpang Indralaya Toll Road section, the Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road section, and the Bakauheni-Terbanggi Besar Toll Road section. The Presidential Decree was then revised by President Joko Widodo through Presidential Decree No. 117/2015 concerning "Amendments to Presidential Regulation Number 100 of 2014 Concerning the Acceleration of Toll Road Development in Sumatra," which increases the assignment to PT Hutama Karya (Persero) of a total of 24 toll roads in Sumatera.

One of the project sections is the Bakauheni-Terbanggi Besar toll road section (140,938 km), which operated in January 2018 (Package 1 South Bakauheni-North Bakauheni Segment 8.9 km and Package 2 Lematang-Kotabaru Segment 5 km), which was fully operational on March 8, 2019. The toll road section consists of several work packages, including Package 1: Bakauheni-Sidomulyo (39.9 km), Package 2: Sidomulyo-Kota Baru (40 km), Package 3: Kotabaru-Tegineneng (30 km), and Package 4: Tegineneng-Terbanggi Besar (33 km).

In the construction process of the Trans Sumatra toll road project, Bevananda, as the BEVA Gabion product manufacturer, supplied SNI-standard gabions, which were used on the toll road section as soil reinforcement and erosion control material. BEVA Gabion supplied to this project includes BEVA Gabion of heavy galvanized and PVC-coated type. Both types of products provide good resistance to rust, so they can provide long-term protection to support several infrastructure projects.

BEVA Gabion has also been used in several other national strategic projects, is available, and can be accessed via the LKPP E-Catalogue portal.
